What Are the Most Common Types of Symptoms of a Brain Injury?

Traumatic brain injuries are mainly caused by heavy blows to the head or violent jolts. TBI can also steam from a shattered piece of the skull or foreign object entering the brain tissue. Mild traumatic brain injuries can vary in duration and physical effects while more severe brain injuries can create bruising, torn tissue, as well as bleeding and serious physical damage.

The most serious of these injuries can result in life-long complications or death. TBI’s have a myriad of physical and psychological effects that can take time to develop. Victims who are suffering from a TBI due to negligent actions committed by another party are welcomed to contact our qualified brain injury attorneys at West Coast Trial Lawyers. We will assess your case to determine what necessary steps to take in order to get you the compensation you deserve.

  • Coma. People who are in a coma due to a brain injury are unconscious and can not respond to any outside stimuli. A coma can last anywhere from days to years.

  • Brain death. This occurs when there is no activity happening in the brain. Being brain dead is irreversible and the body can not survive without the help of high-tech machinery.
